Polar Bear Trap Shoot
Our first event of 2012 is geared toward honoring our historic trap roots / guns!
New Format: One round will be traditional ... one shot trap with either a double barrel or a vintage break open trap gun. The second round will be a two shot wobble trap with a SxS! So in essence, you are shooting three rounds ... 75 shells ... perfect score is 75.
When: Sunday, January 15 ... be there at 12:00 (high noon) to sign in as guests (liability waiver) at the clubhouse (do this first). Come earlier to practice! We will start shooting on two reserved trap ranges at 1:00 p.m. Finish by 4:00 and go to dinner at the Emerald Isle.
Where: Cherry Creek State Park Family Shooting Center. Directions: Go South (or North depending on where you live) on I-25, East on I-225, South on Parker Road and take the East entrance into the park.
Be prepared to pay the daily entrance fee of $9.00.

Guns: Any gauge SxS of your choice and / or a break open single barrel vintage trap gun such as a Parker, Ithaca, LC Smith, Westley Richards, Baker, Fox, etc. No pump guns, No modern single barrels like Perazzi, SKB, Winchester, Browning, side by sides only ... no autos, over/unders. No loads faster than 1200 f.p.s., no shot larger than 7.5!
Trophies: Scores will be kept for those who are competitive. Champion / Runnerup trophies for men and Champion trophy for women.
White clays: Break one of these and you will receive a $5.00 bill at the end of the day!
Low gun: This is a Vintager event! Low gun below the armpit in typical Vintager style ... Not pre-mounted in "modern trap style."
Cost: Less than $30 for park admission and Three rounds of trap ... our least expensive shoot of the year.
Optional Dinner After: We will finish by 4:00 p.m. and adjourn to the Emerald Isle, East side of Cherry Creek Reservoir on Parker Road. The Emerald Isle has a "roadhouse atmosphere" with a spectacular overview of the park / reservoir.
Vintager membership: 2012 dues are due ... bring your checkbooks! Vintager reasurer Don Freuden will have membership forms available. Dues are $75.00 for individuals and $120.00 for couples.
No RSVP required ... simply show up on time.
